Spring positively blooms at Kopernik Lodge!
This spring has been bursting with activities, events, and the warmth of friends and community!
We celebrated Easter by gathering together, sharing memories, socializing, and more. And thanks to generous donations, residents were really able to expand their time outdoors on new patio furniture as well as really digging in with some spring gardening. Being able to spend more time outdoors was wonderful!
And in major news – we take great pride in the recent reward that Kopernik Foundation received from Polish President Duda, with Tony Jochlin, President of Kopernik Foundation, accepting. You can catch up all the details on this important event, specially featured in this newsletter.
We’ve also got our Resident and Employee Spotlights, celebrating St. Pats, friendly pool noodle competitions, crafting, happy hour, and so much more. This newsletter is full-to-bursting with loads of information about all our goings on!

Award to Kopernik from Polish President Duda
On April 19, 2024, the President of the Republic of Poland, Andrzej Duda, during a historic visit to Vancouver as part of the 80th anniversary of the Canadian Polish Congress, recognized the work of the M. Kopernik (Nicolaus Copernicus) Foundation for its substantial contribution to the community.
Tony Jochlin, President of the Kopernik Foundation, along with Liz Narodowski, Director of the Kopernik Foundation were in attendance, representing the Kopernik Foundation during President Duda’s visit.
Tony had the privilege of accepting the Polish flag, gifted to the Foundation by President Duda, during this significant event.
